LOCSU Seeks New Board Members

28 February 2023

LOCSU is currently looking to recruit four new Board Directors (clinical).

Are you looking for an opportunity to apply your professional experience to strategic influence? Do you want to expand your knowledge through a portfolio career? Can you bring leadership, strategic decision making and governance skills to the world of LOCs?

Being a LOCSU board member provides an exciting opportunity for you to use your skills and expertise in a rewarding role, bringing forward views and knowledge gained from LOCs in England to inform Board discussions and decisions to develop and improve eye care within England.

It’s hoped the board members recruited will be diverse in terms of experience and background. Previous board experience is not essential as training and support will be provided.

Dr Joy Tweed, LOCSU Chair said,

“Being a board member is a responsible but rewarding role. If you have the skills and experience, I do hope you will consider this leadership opportunity and apply.”

With a commitment of approximately 10 meetings per year, the LOCSU Board meets a minimum of four times per year (London) and Board Directors may also be involved at other times, as needed.

The appointments will commence 1 April 2023 and will be for terms of two or three years, to stagger future director appointments and retain organisational memory.

Full details of these important roles are included in the Application Pack here.

Applications must be received no later than midday on Tuesday 7 March with short listed candidates invited for interview (virtual) 21/22 March.
