Registration Opens for Regional Optical Conferences

This week, LOCSU has opened registration for the first ever Regional Optical Conferences (ROCs), inviting LOCs across the country to attend events across England.
Seven ROCs will take place – one in each region – between the 12 and 22 November 2024. Each conference has been designed in collaboration with LOCs, reflecting the preference, priorities and needs of each region.
This year, the ROCs will be held in the place of the National Optical Conference (NOC), which usually takes place in November but has been postponed to May 2025 – details will be shared as soon as possible.
Further details and how to register for each ROC is outlined below*. Registration for the ROCs will close on Monday 21 October 2024.
Janice Foster, LOCSU CEO, said: “We’re very excited to open the registration for the first ever regional optical conferences taking place this November. From the very beginning, we wanted to plan and build these events in collaboration with LOCs. Each ROC, from date to location to agenda, has been tailored around the needs and wants of each region following feedback from that area. We have heard your voice, and we have acted.
“Our Forward Plan clearly placed LOCs at the front and centre of all LOCSU activity, the ROCs are just one way that we are living our pledges. Hosting ROCs in each region provides even greater opportunity for us to engage with even more LOC constituents to ensure we continue to support you and respond to your local needs. I’m looking forward to getting out on the road again to visit LOCs and hearing from colleagues across the country. I hope to see many of you there.”

*Please only register for your region. There is no limit on the number of attendees from each LOC and the ROCs are free to attend for LOCs who fund LOCSU. Unfortunately, LOCSU is not able to offer backfill payments for time lost in practice. The agenda shared is draft and therefore is subject to change.
