LOCSU Launches LOC Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Survey

27 July 2022

LOCSU is working with Local Optical Committees to assist them in using equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across their committees and as part of their decision-making processes.

We have appointed an independent consultant Farah Awan to lead the project on our behalf. Farah is an optometrist, LOC member and NHS London Workforce Race Equality Standard (WRES) working group member. She’s committed to improving EDI across the optical workforce.

LOC committee members are being invited to complete a short survey on LOC EDI with all the responses collected and processed anonymously. Once collected the results will be processed and analysed to create an initial framework for LOCs to utilise.

The survey period runs until 11.59pm Monday 15 August 2022.

If you are a committee member of an LOC and would like to take part, please contact your LOC or info@locsu.co.uk

EDI will be one of the topics we discuss in our NOC workshops later this year.
