OFNC Fees and Grants 2023/24

23 March 2023

Please see this statement from the OFNC in response to today’s government announcement of a 4.5% uplift to GOS fees and pre-reg training grants. There is no uplift to CPD grants.

As always, there is much work that sits behind any announcement and OFNC have negotiated hard on behalf the profession in order to achieve the 4.5% uplift, including meeting with Neil O’Brien MP, Minister for Primary Care and Public health, to raise the historic underfunding of fees, the importance of wider commissioning of enhanced primary eye care services and to raise the need for further joint working with NHSE.

LOCSU and OFNC will be hosting an important engagement event for LOCs, providing a valuable opportunity to hear first-hand, from national negotiators, and to better understand the context, policy, and strategy behind the latest figures. The discussions and feedback from your members will also help inform next years’ negotiating round.

Date: Tuesday 18 April
Time: 7pm
Venue: Teams Virtual Call

To register, please email your name, LOC, and LOC role to jacquefooks@locsu.co.uk no later than 12 noon Wednesday 12 April.
