Optometry First Webinar Announced

28 October 2021

In conjunction with the National Eye Care Recovery & Transformation Programme, LOCSU has organised a webinar event on Optometry First.

The title of the webinar is ‘’How to Build an Optometry First Service’’ and it’ll take place on Thursday 11th November, from 19:00 – 20:00.

The session will cover primary eye care’s contribution to both recovery and the transformation of eye care services and is of interest to primary eyecare providers and professionals and all those with an interest in service planning and delivery.

Optometry First makes optimal use of the existing primary eye care workforce as first contact practitioners and to manage low risk patients with long-term conditions, to broaden the scope of care delivered in primary care beyond the sight testing service, to support system capacity.
