Optometry First Webinar Now Available to Watch Again

25 November 2021

In conjunction with the National Eye Care Recovery & Transformation Programme, earlier this month LOCSU organised a webinar event on Optometry First.

The title was ‘’How to Build an Optometry First Service’’ and it covered primary eye care’s contribution to both recovery and the transformation of eye care services.

Optometry First makes optimal use of the existing primary eye care workforce as first contact practitioners and to manage low risk patients with long-term conditions, to broaden the scope of care delivered in primary care beyond the sight testing service, to support system capacity.

Interim Clinical Director Zoe Richmond said afterwards:

“We covered lots in this webinar with some good engagement. We will continue to engage, listen, innovate, collaborate to promote the principles.”

The webinar is now available on our YouTube channel for play:
