Information Governance (IG) is an extremely important area for the optical sector. LOCs and PECs are required to have robust IG programmes to ensure that the data of patients, contractors and performers are collected and shared correctly and appropriately.
The GOS and NHS Standard Contracts contain many IG requirements, and many contractors are required to complete NHS Digital’s Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT).
