WOPEC Lead Assessor Training Event

6 August 2025

Congratulations to the seven individuals who recently attended the WOPEC Lead Assessor Training event.

Several LOCs reported difficulty in arranging WOPEC OSCEs locally, with one of the challenges described as the lack of availability of the WOPEC lead assessor.  Following this feedback, LOCSU planned for seven individuals to receive training to become a lead assessor.

The training took place in Birmingham on 21 July, and all attendees have now gone on to the next level of training, supporting the delivery of OSCE assessments in their areas working alongside an experienced lead.

Zoe Richmond, Clinical Director at LOCSU, said: “With the NHS’s commitment to moving more care out of hospital and into local communities, it’s important that all primary care practitioners who wish to deliver local enhanced services, are empowered to get involved. Investing in Lead Assessor training is one way LOCSU is supporting LOCs to develop their workforce.”
