Join the LOCSU Team: Regional Optometry Partner

30 April 2026

Are you looking for a role where you can support and empower local leaders and LOCs?

Are you passionate about improving outcomes for patients and communities?

Do you want to shape the future of local eye care and advance primary care optometry?

If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Following extensive engagement with LOCs and the LOCSU team, as outlined in the LOCSU Transformation Update, we are now recruiting for four Regional Optometry Partners to begin in Summer 2026.

These permanent employed roles will replace the current Advancement Lead role, which will continue until the existing contracts end later this year.

We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have subject matter expertise in:

  • Primary care optometry commissioning, system influence and/or contracting
  • Workforce
  • Digital Systems
  • Research, data and evidence building.

Mohammed Bhuta, an Advancement Lead at LOCSU since 2022, said: “Being an Advancement Lead at LOCSU is a varied and rewarding leadership role, with every day bringing new challenges, people and opportunities to make a difference to LOCs.

“If you’re thinking about applying to work in the LOCSU team I’d really encourage you to go for it!”

Bobby Fida, previous LOCSU Advancement Lead and current LOCSU Board Director (LOC), said: “The Regional Optometry Partner role is a brilliant way to grow your portfolio career whilst supporting LOCs to advance primary care optometry. Having done the role myself and now serving on the LOCSU Board, I’ve seen the impact it makes — for the profession, for systems and for patients.”

Full details of the role can be found here.

To apply, please complete this application form and return it to info@locsu.co.uk by 12 noon on Tuesday 19 May 2026 with the subject ‘LOCSU vacancy’.

If you have any questions, please contact info@locsu.co.uk, speak to your Advancement Lead, or reach out to Fionnuala Kidd, Head of Regional Optometry Partnerships.
