Glaucoma Care Reimagined: Empowering Primary Care Optometry

29 May 2026

A joint sector webinar will take place on 30 June, bringing together representatives from the College of Optometrists, LOCSU, ABDO, AOP and FODO to explore how primary care optometry can play a fuller role across the glaucoma pathway.

Following the release of the New GIRFT Glaucoma Guidance – Opportunities for Improvement Through Primary Eye Care Services, which was released earlier this month, the webinar, Glaucoma Care Reimagined: Empowering Primary Care Optometry, will hear from an expert multi-organisation panel.

Content will include the new local commissioning and pathway developments, the policy and funding landscape, equipment and infrastructure decisions for practices, the clinical protocol underpinning community glaucoma care, and the contribution of dispensing opticians and the whole practice team to adherence and improved patient outcomes.

The event will take place virtually on Wednesday 30 June from 7.30pm – 8.45pm and is designed for optometrists, dispensing opticians, LOC members and practice owners. Attendees can submit your questions in advance and join the live Q&A.
