Step Into Leadership – Apply Now for the 2026 LOCSU Leadership Course!

Are you a passionate LOC officer or committee member ready to take your leadership to the next level?

LOCSU is now accepting applications for the 2026 Leadership Skills for Optical Professionals course – a fully-funded 20-credit postgraduate module, delivered in partnership with WOPEC at Cardiff University.

The course is designed to empower optometrists and dispensing opticians (FBDO or BSc qualified) to become influential leaders in the optical sector – locally, regionally, and nationally. Past graduates have gone on to become CEOs, Clinical Leads and Directors, LOC Chairs, on the cover of leading optical magazines, coaches and key figures in Primary Eyecare Companies, Local Eye Health Networks and much more.

Delegates will gain a broad understanding of leadership theory and practical application, skills to influence policy, build strategic networks, and enhance patient care with a chance to lead real projects and reflect on your leadership journey.
