Time Is Running Out To Be Part of Our Leadership Skills Course Next Year

25 November 2022

Leadership Skills Cohort

You only have until the end of Monday 5th December to apply for next year’s Leadership skills for Optical Professionals postgraduate module.

This course is designed to enable the practising optical professional to become an effective leader at local and national level within the optical sector through the support and development of LOCs and LEHNs, building effective strategic networks, influencing policy makers, and enhancing eye health services for patients.

Joanne Lindley from Surrey LOC completed the course. She said:

“The Leadership module was absolutely invaluable – my confidence was at rock bottom at the start of the course but exploring our own personalities, interpersonal dynamics and leadership skills with our blog buddies was really empowering.

“For sure it has given me insight and tools that I know I am going to make full use of going forward. That’s not to say I will get it right every time but hopefully will make a few less rookie errors!

“I have signed up to carry on learning so in September I will carry on with the Professional Certificate in Eye care Governance, with the Leadership course I am technically a third of the way through that!”

LOCSU will be funding up to 10 places on the 2023 cohort. If you would like to be considered for a funded place please download the application from the LOCSU website and return to: jacquefooks@locsu.co.uk, with a covering note from your LOC Chair on why you would be considered a good candidate.

More details of the course can be found here.
