New Dates Announced for LOC Induction Course

Our Local Optical Committee (LOC) induction course is ideal for new members and anyone looking to refresh their LOC knowledge and skills.
The latest course dates have been announced for mid-January giving you an excellent way to start the new year!
The in-depth Facilitated Induction programme is hosted using our Thinkific online platform. This gives the opportunity to participate in private, online group discussions with other new members, group webinars focused on specific LOC topics, and activities designed to support delegates to become effective LOC members quickly.
Next Course Schedule:
- Monday 16 January 2023 – Introductions & Orientation Week
(Optional Launch webinar for meet & greeting the group and what’s in store during the course 7:00pm) - Monday 23 January 2023 – Week 1: What is a LOC?
- Monday 30 January 2023 – Week 2: The Functions and Governance of the LOC
- Wednesday 1 February 2023 – CPD Webinar: This event provides 2 interactive GOC CPD points under the Professionalism and Communication domains. It is pre-approved and not for self-directed learning and ONLY for LOC Induction Course attendees. This CPD is approved for Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians. Course leader Simone Mason is joined by LOCSU optical leads – Fionnuala Kidd and Mohammed Bhuta, as well as LOCSU’s Head of Policy Richard Knight who is an expert on LOCs.
- Monday 6 February 2023 – Week 3: Who does the LOC communicate with?
