As the recognised local representative body, LOCs and their committee members carry certain responsibilities, requiring specific skills which LOCSU can help you develop – contact your Advancement Lead for support.
Our Advancement Leads support a range of activities, including liaising and negotiating with NHS ICBs on commissioning new services, improving existing services, and identifying opportunities to deliver eye care within primary care settings.
In addition, we support LOCs with initiatives such as succession planning and strategy development. LOCSU offers a variety of training opportunities, such as our LOC Induction Course, along with role-specific training for officers (e.g., communications and treasurers) and governance training for committee members.
