Facilitated Online Induction Programme
Book now for the in-depth Facilitated Induction programme. This approach will include the opportunity to participate in private, online group discussions with other new members, group webinars focused on specific LOC topics and activities designed to support delegates to become effective LOC members quickly.
What Is The Commitment?
We anticipate that delegates will need to allocate 3 hours per week during the course to complete the reading and activities.
When is the next course?
The next induction course will launch on Monday 22 September 2025. Content will released on this day, with delegates able to begin working through the course in their own time.
22 September 2025: What is an LOC?
Launch webinar, 7pm – 8pm: introductions from the group and special guest presenting on National Eye Health Week (David Cartwright) followed by an overview of LOCSU with special guest CEO of LOCSU Janice Foster.
29 September 2025: Functions and governance
Webinar, 7pm – 8pm: As a new LOC member, looking at doing a ‘comms’ audit for your LOC is often a task that you can offer to look at in your first six months on the committee. On this session, we will be joined be joined by LOCSU’s Communications and Engagement Lead who will share top tips and guidance for your LOCs communications needs.
Thursday 9 October: CPD webinar
Webinar, 7pm – 8pm: Discussing those acronyms ICS, ICBs, PCNs and Introduction to commissioning with one of LOCSU’s Advancement Leads, Andy Byrne.
Monday 10 November: The Induction Huddle: Post-Course Aftercare
Webinar, 7pm – 8pm: ‘The effective LOC Challenge’ Round up of What is a LOC and Top Tips from other LOCs, Comms Plans and Quick Wins with LOCSU’s Training and Development Lead, Simone Mason.
How do I sign up?
To register for this programme, delegates need to complete this form by 10am on Thursday 11 September.
This course is offered to members of LOCs who are Levy-paying LOCs. If you are not yet a member of an LOC – please email info@locsu.co.uk for support.
