Early Ideas Capture and Expression of Interest: Share Your Insights for NOC 2025

Attention all LOC members and optometric professionals!
We are excited to invite you to share your early ideas and expressions of interest for the data and research workstream at the National Optical Conference (NOC), which will take place in May 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to explore and develop your initial concepts, whether it’s a potential service evaluation, mini-audit or a case study highlighting best practices in eye care.
What we’re looking for:
Early ideas: Have an idea but not sure how to develop it? We want to hear from you! Whether it’s a local service evaluation, an innovative approach, or an observation from your practice, your ideas are valuable.
Expressions of interest: Indicate your interest in contributing to the NOC 2025 by outlining your thoughts on potential topics, projects, or presentations. This is an opportunity to collaborate, get feedback, and refine your ideas with support.
Examples of early ideas:
Mini-audit proposals: Early-stage ideas for audits that measure the effectiveness of a new referral system, clinical pathway innovation, treatment approach or service reconfiguration within your LOC.
Current research reuse: Ongoing practice-level research, such as mini audits and evaluations, can be adapted into poster abstracts, case studies, or oral presentations for NOC 2025. This is a chance to highlight your work and share insights with peers.
How to express your interest:
We invite you to share your ideas by Monday 23rd September 2024.
The form will ask for:
- The LOC you are affiliated with
- A working title or description of your idea
- The type of contribution (e.g., early idea, case study, audit proposal)
- A brief summary (100-200 words) of your concept or area of interest
- Information on current research being conducted at practice level and within LOCs that could be adapted for NOC 2025
- Any support or feedback you would like to receive
