Why Should I Go?

Enjoy an interactive day of workshops and debates, designed to assist your LOC chairing responsibilities and to further hone your skills in leadership, meeting facilitation, managing challenging meetings and personalities, improving LOC committee and meeting running, and leading with integrity and good governance. Additionally, this is an ideal opportunity to meet colleagues in similar roles around the country to network and build relationships.

The event will be led by Dr Joy Tweed, an academic and trainer in corporate governance who works with the Chartered Governance Institute and other clients. Joy is a former course leader of an MSc in governance and leadership in healthcare and is currently Chair of LOCSU.

What Initiated This?

LOC colleagues have provided feedback to LOCSU that they will welcome the opportunity to access role specific training, development, buddying and networking as part of the LOCSU support offer. This was further underlined in the listening and engagement events we have undertaken.

How Do I Get My Place?

Please express your interest and reserve your place though this link with your contact details, role and LOC.

Registration closes on Friday, 31 May 2024.

Initial places are limited to two per LOC, though we will open further depending on uptake and we will hold a reserve/waiting list.

This event is fully funded as part of the LOC support offered by LOCSU and will be evaluated for value by LOCs to further inform future events and training for other LOC roles. A complementary Chair Toolkit designed to support you further in your LOC role will be shared post event to assist ongoing learning.
